" the noticeable though brief distraction an objectification based advertisement creates in the opposite sex may demonstrate the importance of the need to look unquestionably desirable to maintain their full attention (who do not appear to be very faithful at all - and are certainly not with all of these advertisements around) - and so further the argument for the purchasing of the product "

Representing Humanity

Subjectify - leading the abolition of
physical and psychological abuse

Organisation Profile

Subjectify is an Australian based harm preventative charitable organisation, whose primary aim is to prevent the misrepresentation of human beings thereby protecting the dignity of members of society and preventing their abuse as product of their misconception.

heart

The purpose of the organisation is to:

  • develop, maintain and promote a comprehensive and integrated philosophy of mind to secure a scientifically plausible and publicly acceptable basis for human dignity, where mind is not mutually exclusive from the brain (substance dualism), nor is mind the brain (reductive physicalism), nor is it a by-product of the brain (epiphenomenalism), but is mapped to our brain's concept of itself (non-reductive physicalism)
  • develop, maintain, and promote (increase public awareness, support and participation in) objectification theory[1], educating people about the misrepresentation of human beings in society, and consequences for its toleration[2][3], including but not limited to self-objectification
  • develop, maintain and promote resources to mobilise the general population to speak out about their distaste for and report the misrepresentation of human beings without being targeted for abuse themselves
  • increase public awareness, support and participation in the dignified representation of human beings in society
  • To establish and maintain a public fund to be called the Subjectify Public Fund for the specific purpose of the promotion of the prevention or the control of behaviour that is harmful or abusive to human beings (Subjectify harm prevention charity). The fund is established to receive all gifts of money or property for this purpose and any money received because of such gifts must be credited to its bank account. The fund must not receive any other money or property into its account and it must comply with Subdivision 30-EA of ITAA. (Section 6.1 - Model Clauses for Harm Prevention Charities - 'Establishment of the Public Fund' clause)

In summary;

  • Representing Humanity - understand the philosophical basis for human dignity and promote the dignified representation of human beings in society
  • Restoring Sanity - support and communicate objectification theory - the misrepresentation of human beings in society and consequences for its toleration
  • Perversion No Mercy (as it gives none, neither shall it receive any) - speak out about distaste for and report the misrepresentation of human beings and enable freedom of speech

The principal activity of Subjectify is the promotion of the prevention or the control of human behaviour that is harmful or abusive to human beings. Behaviour that is harmful or abusive means one or more of the following:[4]

  • emotional abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • physical abuse
  • suicide
  • self-harm
  • substance abuse
  • harmful gambling.
